California Animal Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Hospital Manager to join our team!

We are the only rehab clinic in Southern California utilizing veterinarians certified in both acupuncture and rehabilitation and physical therapists certified in rehabilitation. We create the gold standard for pet therapy and thus CARE is the global industry leader.

Our Hospital Manager (HM) is a leader and integral member of our management team, and acts as a champion for change and growth. The Hospital Manager partners with the Medical Director to provide a healthy and profitable operation by driving revenue, managing costs, and creating a hospital culture based on high quality patient care, exceptional service, and a collaborative team environment.
Personnel + Human Resources + Operations
Our team is our most important resource. Our goal is to create an environment that is healthy, rewarding, fulfilling, and sustainable. It is essential for the Hospital Manager to ensure these goals are met. The HM will work with CARE leadership, field leadership, and NVA HR in support of these tasks:
Candidate selection process – recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, etc.
All aspects of internal HR, with support of NVA HR team
Supervise team; act as direct authority regarding disciplinary procedures, discharging, and all legal responsibilities of employment; conduct employee exit interviews or surveys
Implement/support training programs, create new protocols when necessary, and ensure staff is trained to standards of CARE
Assist with planning/oversee meetings
Foster open, supportive environment; take action/follow through/offer support when needed
Mediate personnel issues effectively, lead team building and motivational activities
Have a deep understanding of hospital flows, positions, functions; identify ways to improve.

Oversee client service – promote a client-centered approach; step in to successfully resolve issues professionally and tactfully when needed
Use resources to track client satisfaction (i.e., surveys, online reviews, BirdEye, etc.)
Track sources of new clients and client retention rates; analyze and evaluate plan to improve.
Financial health is essential to CARE’s ability to provide exceptional patient care and work environment. The HM will work with the Medical Director and other management to ensure CARE maintains a healthy financial state.
Understand, review, and analyze the budget and financial reports; use that information to work within budgets
Monitor key performance indicators at least monthly to allow proactive decision-making
Ensure accounts payable and accounts receivable are completed
Oversee inventory control system to assure adequate stock is available without overstock, in collaboration w/ inventory mgr.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and laws – included, but not limited to, OSHA, DEA, EEOC, ADA, Department of Labor.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE
3 years of supervisory experience and bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that indicates proficiency in necessary areas may be substituted.
Strong verbal + written communication and ability to build trusting relationships with team
Ability to remain calm and professional in the face of various types of pressure
Ability to manage change and process improvements
Understanding of reporting and data analysis
Strong computer skills, including practice info software, MS Office, email, and general networking abilities
Leadership skills - ability to direct, guide, and assist a team; assisting to resolve staff conflict and personnel issues, and evaluate performance
Critical thinking – understand logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses, alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
