DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is seeking a Critical Care Specialist to join our exceptional team of highly skilled professionals committed to providing the best veterinary specialty services available. Current DACVECC board-certification is preferred but a qualified and motivated board eligible candidate will be considered.
DoveLewis is an AAHA-accredited and VECCS Level 1 certified hospital and is the only nonprofit, 24-hour referral, emergency, intensive care, and specialty hospital in the region.
As a teaching hospital, we offer unique learning opportunities in addition to a significant (approximately 16,000 patients per year) and diverse case load. Our growing multispecialty team, staff doctors, technicians, and support staff work as a team that values good communication and the common goal of helping clients in their time of need. Our DVM staff of 21 includes two boarded criticalists, two boarded surgeons, additionally one board eligible surgeon, a boarded radiologist, internist, cardiologist, and DVM interns. Our medical services and community programs are known around the world thanks to the passion and expertise of all of our employees.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with community veterinary practices, clients, and staff. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a passion for clinical and academic over-set of interns.
As a nonprofit, DoveLewis provides donor-funded programs to the community, including one of the US’s largest volunteer-based animal blood banks, a nationally recognized pet loss support program, an animal-assisted therapy program, education of veterinary professionals and the animal-loving community, 24-hour stabilizing care for lost, stray, and wild animals, and financial assistance for qualifying low-income families and abused animals.
