Crossroads Animal Care Center has been providing for pets in Woodbridge, VA and the Prince William County area for nearly 20 years. We are currently seeking a full time Urgent Care Veterinarian.
The urgent care veterinarian serves as the clinical leader of the of this new aspect to the Hospital. He or she is responsible for the ongoing evaluation and management of clinical practices as well as the delivery of patient care to urgent cases. The urgent care veterinarian works in partnership with the practice manager and CVP to ensure a high standard of medical case management and to provide an excellent experience for our clients and their pets.

Work with the team in a collaborative and positive manner and provide leadership to the technical and client care staff.
Inspire hospital team to create and maintain a positive and productive environment by setting the example in work habits and communication with staff and clients.
Collaborate with associate doctors and practice manager to create and implement the medical standards for critical care that ensure an excellent level of practice.
Communicate, abide by and ensure compliance to state veterinary governing regulations.
Oversee on-boarding and ongoing training for critical care clinicians. Mentor new doctors on hospital policies, medical standards and client communication through personal example.
Communicate with other departments and attend all required meetings, including staff meetings.
Chair a routine doctor’s meeting, collect agenda suggestions, provide the agenda topics and the meeting minutes to the practice manager for distribution to the veterinarians and appropriate team members.
Research, present and implement new service and product opportunities, including clinical studies.
Provide clear and concise verbal and written instructions regarding department standards, policies and procedures.
Be supportive of and contribute to the operational and financial goals of the hospital. Participate in yearly budgeting process, monthly P&L reviews and discuss weekly financial reports with practice manager.
Offer support to the practice manager with the strategic plan. Complete additional hospital projects as needed.
Attend annual doctor meeting.
This position will be comprised of day, evening, and weekend shifts.
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited university
License in good standing to practice in the state of Virginia
At least 2 years of practice experience
Accomplished surgical and dental skills preferred
This position performs a number of activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such as ensuring the breadth and quality of medical care, cost management, utilization review, and quality assurance. .
